XS Espresso North Richmond is a busy and well-established café located in North Richmond, NSW. We are known for our high-quality meals, excellent customer service, and fast-paced kitchen environment. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.
Position Overview
The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with established recipes and food safety standards. The successful candidate will work as part of a team in a commercial kitchen to ensure meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, season, and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu requirements.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented in accordance with established standards for quality, taste, and portion control.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and marinating ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, fryers, and other cooking appliances safely and efficiently.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked safely and consistently.
- Portion and plate meals according to service requirements.
- Store food in temperature-controlled facilities and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas, equipment, and storage areas.
- Comply with all food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management when supplies need replenishment.
- Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or IV), or equivalent.
- Alternatively, at least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Cook.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Salary: $73,000 - $78,000
