Continuous education and training are essential to acquire and sustain the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the required competency standards.About the Team/Service/Location The Cardiology Service is a Secondary and Tertiary service provided for Te Whatu Ora Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley (CC & HV) and those of the central region of New Zealand.Cardiology at CC & HV includes:Outpatient ClinicsCardiac Diagnostic TestingThe Heart and Lung UnitCardiac Interventional Suite, providing the following procedures: Coronary AngiogramsLeft & right heart studiesCoronary intervention and CTOBalloon Valvuloplasty and TAVIPFO/ASD/LAA ClosurePacing, ICD and CRT implantsElectrophysiology Studies, 3D mapping and AblationCardiac Physiology Service includes:Pacing/ICD follow-up service, including remote monitoring, travelling clinics and on call serviceCath Lab, Implants, TAVI and ElectrophysiologyEchocardiographyExercise Tolerance TestingAmbulatory monitoring- Holters, Events & BPTraining of Provisional Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiac Physiology Technicians and other Health Care staffThe CC & HV Cardiology Service is accredited as an SCT training facility.About you Someone well-suited to the role will place a high value on the following:Building and developing high performing teamsPromoting a positive & collaborative team environment Continuous improvementKnowledge, skills & Experience:Practice and further training has been completed, demonstrating a high level of clinical competence in a specialty area (Electrophysiology and/or Devices).Ability to teach, lead & and mentor developing staff in area of specialityEssential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:Current Annual Practising CertificateMembership of SCTBScPost Graduate Diploma in Medical Technology (MTEX) or equivalentCertificate of Cardiac Physiology (CCP) or equivalentHas achieved or working towards: International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) EP Certificate The Cardiac Electrophysiology Institute of Australasia (CEPIA) Graduate Diploma International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) EP CertificateWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is

About the Role The Cardiac Physiology service is comprised of a dedicated team of Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiac Physiology Technicians who collaborate closely with physicians, administrative, and support staff to deliver high-quality, efficient, and patient-centred care for both inpatients and outpatients.
Cardiac Physiologists are responsible for performing cardiac tests within their defined scope of practice, which demands extensive practical and technical expertise in understanding cardiac arrhythmias and their mechanisms.A key aspect of this role is maintaining a focus on patient care while upholding professional standards.
