Job Description

This position is responsible for producing high standard and volume ala carte meals, Freshly baked sweet and savoury items, Variety of cabinet items sweet and savoury.
Producing seasonal menus
Producing daily specials
Assisting with food stock orders.
Managing stock including checking of deliveries
Running and clearing, washing dishes, cleaning
Training Junior staff members to assist in summer season
Working in a team environment, working as team leader.
Following Food and Safety and Health and Safety Protocols
Follows Host Responsibility Policy
Ensuring dietary requirements of customers are meet (gluten free, dairy free, special dietary requirements)
Oversees ESPY’s Food Control Plan (taking and recording of temperature, checking of deliveries)
Completing order sheets at the end of every shift.
Assisting the manager with complaints.
Ensuring daily and weekly BOH cleaning schedules are completed when required.
Preparation of café for service
Comply with Food Control Plan and Food Safety Authority
Take part in fire or evacuation drills to perform evacuation of staff and customers when required
To ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with statutory and company hygiene requirements.
To conform to statutory and company personal hygiene requirements.
To report any suspicious parcel, package or behavior to management

Other tasks as required to help make the business operate to a high standard

Preparing café for next day’s service

Guaranteed minimum of 30hrs per week, hourly minimum rate of $28. Days of work is from Wednesdays to Sundays (days off are Monday and Tuesday), starts from 6am (5am during busy season), days and start timings can vary during summer season as we are a summer tourist destination.

You must be flexible during busy season.

Qualifications
Genuine passion for hospitality and food
3 minimum years of experience as cook or similar environment

Great attitude, team player, loves interaction with staff especially customers

Must haves
  • Experience Certificate
  • Strong food experience
  • No criminal record
  • Able to pass a drug test
  • NZ resident or able to gain visa
  • Must be in New Zealand
  • NZ Driver's License
