  • About the Role: MBIE is looking for an Advisor with excellent relationship building skills to work closely with the Lead Advisor Incident Management and Recovery on an ambitious work programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to start their career in emergency management and/or business continuity within one of New Zealand's biggest government agencies.

We're looking for a person with the right motivation, drive and attitude to join our Emergency Management and Business Continuity team, which is responsible for developing and managing the policies, standards, processes and procedures to ensure MBIE is ready to respond to emergencies and business disruptions.

This is a fast-paced environment which would suit a self-starter with a strong customer focus, good prioritisation / time management skills, and great facilitation skills.

You'll be able to develop and grow your skills in the fields of emergency management, incident management and business continuity, both within MBIE and in the wider government environment.

  • Skills and Experience Required Have a good understanding of emergency and incident management.
An understanding of business continuity would be beneficial.
Understand NZ's Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) Have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including with senior management.
Ability to identify and define problems and determine appropriate solutions Ability to work without direct supervision, self-manage, self-initiate and self-start Be someone well-organised who plans systematically A relevant qualification in emergency management or a related discipline would be desirable Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand Ētahi kōrero mō MBIE
