The roles
We are growing and looking for skilled Civil Carpenters and Civil Foremen to join our site teams.
Key responsibilities (Carpenters):- Perform general civil construction carpentry, including formwork, boxing, and framing.
- Measure, cut and assemble timber and other materials to specification.
- Read and interpret plans to ensure construction meets specifications.
- Install edge protection, access platforms and other temporary site structures.
- Maintain a safe, tidy work environment and follow site safety procedures.
- Lead a small to medium crew of carpenters and labourers on civil sites.
- Plan daily tasks, allocate resources and coordinate with engineers and supervisors.
- Ensure quality, productivity and safety standards are met.
- Assist with set out, problem solving on site and toolbox talks.
- Complete basic site paperwork such as daily records and pre starts.
Skills and experience
We are keen to talk to:- Trade qualified Carpenters with experience in both Commercial & Civil Construction
- Working foremen or leading hands ready to step up into a formal foreman role.
- People who can read plans, work accurately with levels and use tools and equipment safely.
- Reliable team players with good communication skills and a positive, safety-first attitude.
- Site Safe/ConstructSafe or other tickets, and a full driver licence are an advantage.
- Competitive hourly rates aligned to experience and responsibility (higher rates for leading hands and foremen).
- 40+ hours per week with overtime opportunities during peak periods.
- Long term, local work across Christchurch and Canterbury.
