As a Building Control Officer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our district. Your responsibilities will include:- Carrying out inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations and standards.
- Providing expert advice to builders, developers, and homeowners.
- Processing building consent applications accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to promote best practices in construction and design.
- Enforcing regulations to maintain safety and quality standards in our community.
We’re seeking someone with:
A professional qualification in the building industry, such as: Diploma in Building Surveying
NZ Certificate in Carpentry or equivalentCraftsman Plumber and Registered Drainlayer
Advanced Trade Certificate in Building
Multi-Skilled Officers Certificate
Strong communication skills and confident computer literacy.
Good knowledge of the current building code and legislation.
Experience in building control functions (plan processing and inspections) – preferred but not essential.
A current driver’s licence.
