Job Description:In this key role, you will be responsible for operating machinery, managing deliveries, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our Cromwell facility. Your primary duties will include driving a Class 2 truck, operating a forklift, and cutting polystyrene insulation to specification using our hot-wire foam cutting machine.
You will also liaise with suppliers and customers to coordinate deliveries and ensure any issues are resolved promptly. This is a hands-on role with opportunities for growth, development, and increasing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive a Class 2 truck to transport materials and products throughout the Otago region.
- Operate a forklift to safely load and unload materials.
- Cut polystyrene insulation accurately according to cut-lists using our hot-wire foam cutting machine.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to coordinate deliveries and ensure excellent service.
- Assist with general yard, warehouse, and operational tasks as required.
- Positive attitude with a practical, solution-focused approach.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Well-spoken, presentable, and able to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to put in extra effort when needed.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Class 2 licence (or higher) and a current Forklift Operator Certificate — training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Experience driving trucks and operating forklifts.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
