Position: Machine Operator & Delivery Driver

Location: Cromwell, New Zealand

Job Description:
In this key role, you will be responsible for operating machinery, managing deliveries, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our Cromwell facility. Your primary duties will include driving a Class 2 truck, operating a forklift, and cutting polystyrene insulation to specification using our hot-wire foam cutting machine.

You will also liaise with suppliers and customers to coordinate deliveries and ensure any issues are resolved promptly. This is a hands-on role with opportunities for growth, development, and increasing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a Class 2 truck to transport materials and products throughout the Otago region.
  • Operate a forklift to safely load and unload materials.
  • Cut polystyrene insulation accurately according to cut-lists using our hot-wire foam cutting machine.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to coordinate deliveries and ensure excellent service.
  • Assist with general yard, warehouse, and operational tasks as required.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Positive attitude with a practical, solution-focused approach.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Well-spoken, presentable, and able to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to put in extra effort when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Class 2 licence (or higher) and a current Forklift Operator Certificate — training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Experience driving trucks and operating forklifts.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
