  • About the Role: We're looking for an agile, organised, and adaptable leader to drive the successful delivery of the People & Culture (P&C) programme of work, that supports MBIE's strategic and operational goals.

As the Manager P&C Programme, you'll: Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of initiatives across the P&C branch.

Champion best practice project and programme management, embedding frameworks that support delivery excellence.
Establish and maintain triage and prioritisation processes to ensure the right work gets done at the right time.
Build capability across the branch through coaching, training, and mentoring.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior leaders, backed by robust analysis and performance data.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can quickly recognise shifting priorities, and knows how to deliver results through people and systems.

  • Skills and Experience Required We're seeking someone who brings: Proven experience in programme and project management, including portfolio oversight and stakeholder engagement.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing, collaborative teams.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities with confidence.
Strategic thinking and the ability to align initiatives with broader organisational goals.
Fosters an open, collaborative environment that encourages learning and knowledge sharing.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience in capability building, risk management, and performance reporting.
Familiarity with modern project management tools and systems.
An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to authentic partnership with Māori.
Experience in a Human Resources (HR) environment is an advantage.

Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
