ABOUT THE ROLE...
We have a great team and consider attitude and cultural fit to be key elements in defining and identifying the right candidate for this role. The day-to-day duties in this role will require you to:
- Diagnose, identify faults and carry out repairs as required, including hydraulic, pneumatic and pumping systems.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections on tanker equipment (training may be provided if required).
- Install new machines and equipment as required.
- Overhaul, maintain and repair plant machines.
- Review and advise on engineering requirements and drawings where applicable.
- Ensure safe working practices at all times.
- Carry out routine inspections.
- Diagnose, identify faults and carry out repairs as required, including hydraulic, pneumatic and pumping systems.
- Undertake occasional onsite inspections/breakdown work.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a heavy diesel mechanic or similar.
- Formal trade qualification.
- Excellent decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of general motor/diesel mechanics, mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative and with low level supervision.
- Experience working on flammable liquids or gases tank wagons would be considered advantageous.
- HGV Truck and Trailer driver’s license (Class 5) and DG endorsement would be considered advantageous however this is NOT a driving role.
