About The Position
BGIS is seeking a Qualified Carpenters to join our Invercargill Trades Team. This is a hands-on role supporting maintenance, renovation, and upgrade projects across both residential and commercial environments —working directly with a multi-disciplinary team on long-term, meaningful government client contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Handle maintenance, repairs & renovationsInstall joinery, cladding, cabinetry, flooring & more
Work alongside other trades on-site
Communicate clearly with clients
Follow safety & building standards
Support projects from start to finish
Contribute to continuous site improvement
What You’ll Bring
NZ Certificate in Carpentry, Construction or an equivalent recognised qualificationHold a valid NZ Carpentry Registration and Practising Licence (LBP)
Experience in residential maintenance, upgrades, or renovation projects
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices and compliance obligations
Ability to use iPad and mobile apps for time & task reporting
A Full (Class 1) NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
