With an increasing number of clients and the desire to practice to high standards we are currently looking to add another nurse into our incredible, experienced team. We are a privately owned clinic in East Auckland with the main branch in Pakuranga and a small consulting only branch in Whitford.

We have large vet and nursing teams as well as dedicated receptionists. We operate a very large cattery and staff enjoy plenty of feline cuddles too!

This role would suit someone that wants to practice all areas of nursing, surgery and hospital care as well as client interactions and nurse consults. Hours are full time and but preferably 5 days a week and are rostered between 7.30am and 6.30pm with occasional Saturday morning shifts in the roster.

Must have NZ level 6 or equivalent nursing qualification, NZ residency or a working visa, but we are an Accredited employer. Pay depends entirely on experience and skills but we are not fixed into corporate scales.

This role is not suitable for a foreign veterinarian.

Our nurses do all great the stuff they are trained for, utilising all their skills and not just doing the dirty work! We have a varied case load from cat rescue work through to complex surgeries, orthopedics and endoscopy! Our nurses run the clinic and put all their training to use daily.

Taking bloods, putting in IV lines, sedation, anaesthetics, radiology, medicating, managing the hospital, dental scale and polish, dispensing drugs, nurse consults, the list goes on.

What you must have:
  • Passion for animal care and welfare
  • Good people skills, great communication and be a team player, we have a big team and don’t do toxic staff.
  • Empathy and kindness
  • Have a positive energy and work ethic
  • Be reliable, punctual, flexible with hours and keen to learn
  • Enjoy working hard in a busy clinic environment
  • Have great references
What we provide:
  • A busy, fun and highly skilled team where everyone matters and staff are happy to come to work.
  • Lots of cool toys.
  • Management that are hands on always ready for support, help and advice.
  • A lunch room that has lazy boys and is away from the clinic environment. We ensure we have enough staff so the team can take their breaks.
  • Great clients, many patients are insured so we can practice to a high standard of care.
  • We see hundreds of rescue cases as we work with one of Auckland’s biggest cat charities - we believe in giving back.
  • We have some challenging stuff, including complex surgeries that would often be referred – and often we see miracles that we never imagined possible.
  • We have our very own charity The Rock Vets Niue and we are the only veterinary professionals providing care to this Pacific island! This work is life changing and our team are passionate about what we do with many staff travelling there several times a year.
  • No after hours, Sundays or Public Holidays!

Please give flick us a message we would love you to come spend a few hours with us to see what we can offer.
