Cook

Ruby Red Cafe in Mangere Bridge currently look for a Cook to join our team. Working hours is between 30 and 36 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $28 to $30 per hour, depending on level of skills and experience.

Your duties will include:

• Prepare ingredients such as thaw frozen items, cut meat and chop vegetables, measure ingredients etc.
• Cook menu items and accommodate customers’ special requests.
• Portion and present food accordingly.
• Prepare cabinet food such as salads, savouries, and sandwiches.
• Monitor stock level and quality, assist with ordering supplies.
• Check oven, cooking appliance and equipment to ensure everything works well.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation area and cooking equipment.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Require skills and attributes:

• Able to start at 5am, available to work on weekends and public holidays.
• Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in commercial kitchen.
• Physically fit for heavy liftings and standing for extended periods.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Have strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Be reliable and punctual, able to work independently as well as in a team.
