Office Administrator – Bark Products Taranaki

Bark Products Taranaki is a proudly locally owned business manufacturing and selling premium bark-based garden products throughout Aotearoa and around the world.

Our wonderful Office Administrator has recently moved on to new opportunities, and we're now looking for someone new to join our small, close-knit team. If you have a great attitude, a knack for logistics, sales support and documentation, and enjoy being part of a team where everyone pitches in – we’d love to hear from you.

As a small manufacturing business, we’re looking for someone who is trustworthy, flexible, and eager to learn. This role works closely with both the Managing Director and the Site Supervisor, and we’re open to tailoring the position for the right person.

If this sounds like a fit, even if you don’t tick every box below, we encourage you to apply.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead our Xero processes: including accounts reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable
  • Use Excel and Word to manage orders and track customer payments
  • Coordinate logistics and exports: working closely with Mainfreight, Team Global, and others
  • Manage export documentation for multiple international container shipments
  • Communicate confidently with customers, suppliers, regulators, and the wider team
  • Take charge of general office operations: ordering stock (e.g., fertilisers, peat), managing office supplies, and overseeing domestic/international postage
  • Use or learn PayHero to manage payroll and timesheets
What we’re ideally looking for:
  • Advanced Xero, Excel, and Word skills
  • Experience in logistics and export documentation
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude
  • Prior experience with PayHero
About the role:
  • This part-time role can be between 15–25 hours/week (three to five 5-hour shifts a week). We are happy to work with the right candidate to figure out hours that will work around other commitments such as school drop offs
  • Onsite in Waitara
  • Opportunities to grow the role and increase responsibility over time

If this sounds like a role you’d thrive in, please apply with your CV and a brief cover letter outlining why you’d be a great fit for our team by Friday the 15th of August.

We’re excited to meet the next great person to join us on this journey!
