- Kōrero mō te TūrangaAs the Senior Offshore Assessor, you will work in the Offshore Pathway Audit team and will work with technical experts across other teams in the Biosecurity Import & Export Standard Directorate.As part of the role you will:Conduct audits of offshore facilities, trading partner's export systems and commodity pathways to provide ongoing assurance that biosecurity risk is managed offshore.Lead collaboration across teams in the Import & Export Standards, wider Biosecurity New Zealand and Bilateral Relations and Trade.Manage the monitoring and evaluation of performance of import pathways and reporting on the performance of the import pathways to overseas authorities and organisations.Set offshore audit schedules using risk-based criteria.Liaise with overseas authorities and international organisations to ensure information sharing and consistency in the interpretation and application of internationally approved standards and that the technical basis of NZ's measures are understood.Audits will be conducted either remotely (by video conference) and may need be outside of normal working hours or will be conducted onsite at offshore locations.
About You
- Mōu You will have a qualification and expertise in auditing of quality management systems or laboratories, plant/animal/food systems, treatment facilities or a related field.Additionally, you will bring:Strong relationship management and interpersonal skillsAbility to plan, set priorities and meet deadlinesAbility to collect, assimilate and summarise complex information in a clear and concise mannerCross-cultural sensitivityHigh level competency in decision making related to risk management You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply.

- Mō tō mātou RōpūThe Offshore Pathway Assessment team is part of the Biosecurity Import & Export Standards Directorate in Biosecurity New Zealand which is responsible to provide evidence-based requirements and advice to manage risk offshore and enable safe trade and protect NZ from biosecurity risks.
