Your pay: $44.00 - $55.00 per hour depending on your skills
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to join our team. The role supports the Construction Manager by ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, building regulations, and project schedules, with a strong focus on site operations, safety, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision and Coordination- Coordinate and oversee daily construction activities on site to ensure works progress in line with approved drawings, specifications, and construction programmes.
- Supervise subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and in the correct sequence.
- Monitor site productivity and identify issues that may impact timelines, quality, or safety.
- Assist with organising labour, materials, and equipment to support smooth site operations.
- Communicate directly with suppliers and subcontractors to arrange deliveries and sequencing of work.
- Track progress against project timelines and report updates to the company director.
- Carry out regular site checks to ensure work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and consent requirements.
- Identify defects or non-conforming work and assist with coordinating rectification.
- Maintain basic site records, including progress notes and inspection observations.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to support site activities.
- Assist in resolving on-site technical issues by liaising with designers, engineers, and construction staff.
- Support communication between site activities and off-site administration where required.
- Assist with implementing health and safety procedures appropriate to a small construction site.
- Identify hazards and ensure safe work practices are followed by all site personnel.
The successful candidate must have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience, or a New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) Level 4 qualification in a related field.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills and self-motivation.
- High standard of workmanship with strong attention to detail.
