Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients andsupporting the clinical team.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursingstaff with patient cares (including personal care and patient watch) whilstmaintaining a safe and clean work environment on the ward.About the ServiceOur service is a busy ward providing care for our acutegeneral surgery patients, undergoing general surgical procedures within theward environment and high dependency surgical patients in our 8 bed SurgicalProgressive Care Unit (SPCU).

About youWe are looking for candidates who have excellentcommunication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to use theirinitiative.
You will work with a diverse multi-disciplinary team and follow arotating roster including weekend shifts.Ability to work all shifts
  • Morning, Afternoon and NightsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families.A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.You will be well accustomed to working within a fast-paced environment and prioritising your tasks continuously as your day evolves.Availability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamPrevious healthcare experience is desirableWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
