Operations Coordinator
Food Envy is a true Wellington business specialising in events and catering since 2012. We take pride in designing memorable experiences from canapé and celebration dinners; delegate functions conferences; to private milestones and events. We feel delivered catering shouldn’t be any different and all our food comes from a kitchen that values freshness, flavour and variety.
Our Ops Coordinator will oversee our delivery department operations. We have our own private delivery fleet to service our fast-paced 7-day production kitchen based in the central city. You will not be afraid to get stuck in to assist the drivers on busy days.
Additionally, you will manage day-to-day inventory and timely orders for office and catering supplies to ensure efficient logistics whilst continuously improving all operational aspects of the business.
You will have direct contact with our clients, so a passion for customer service is a must! We want someone who is an overall team player with great communication skills. You will be well organized and able to independently manage your time.
This is a part-time role with a guaranteed 30 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee our delivery department operations, including scheduling, rostering and routing;
- Conduct timely ordering with regular office and catering supplies stock takes and manage inventory documentation;
- Hold regular meetings with the General Manager to review department and anticipate business needs;
- Implement operational initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, cost control, and workforce capability;
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle fleet cleaning, servicing and certifications and ensure regular maintenance and compliance checks;
- Train and support delivery drivers to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction;
- Oversee stock control procedures, minimising losses and preventing shortages;
- Running of deliveries and errands when required to ensure the smooth running of our catering service
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with problem-solving and multitasking abilities;
- Proven track record in service delivery, cost management, and process improvement;
- Experience in client and supplier relationship management;
- Leadership capabilities;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Full drivers license is essential
- Must be available both Saturday and Sunday - additional work during the week may also be offered
- Fit and able to lift heavy items (20kg+)
- Works well in a team, ready to get stuck in wherever needed
