About the Role Whanganui Hospital's Emergency Department is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our ED nursing team on a permanent basis.
Our combined department cares for both adult and paediatric patients and sees a diverse range of trauma, medical, and surgical presentations. This creates a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The successful applicant will work rostered and rotating shifts and contribute to high‑quality, compassionate emergency care.

About the Team Our multidisciplinary Emergency Department team works collaboratively to provide patient‑ and whanau‑centred care to our community. We bring professionalism, teamwork, and a supportive attitude to every shift.

About You You must have:
- Current New Zealand Nurse Registration
- At least 5 consecutive years of New Zealand nursing experience
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a skilled team
- Excellent communication skills with patients, whanau, and colleagues
- A commitment to delivering optimal, safe, and culturally responsive care
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A strong focus on continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery
- A commitment to whanau-centred, compassionate acute patient care
