Programmer analyst

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst to analyse business and system requirements, develop and maintain data-driven applications, and support our e-commerce and marketing operations through technical analysis, programming, and system optimisation.
This role plays a key part in transforming business data into meaningful system solutions that support operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:- Analysing business data requirements arising from e commerce operations, marketing campaigns, sales performance, and distribution activities, and translating these requirements into technical data and system solutions.
- Developing and maintaining data solutions across multiple business systems, including data collection, cleansing, integration, processing, and data warehouse development, to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timeliness.
- Writing, testing, and optimising SQL and related program code to support complex data extraction, querying, calculations, and performance monitoring for e commerce platforms and internal reporting systems.
- Designing and maintaining standardised data models, metrics, and indicators to support sales analysis, marketing effectiveness evaluation, customer behaviour analysis, and operational decision making.
- Conducting in depth data and system analysis based on business needs, including descriptive analysis, comparative analysis, trend analysis, and thematic analysis, and producing structured analytical outputs.
- Developing dashboards, reports, and visualised outputs using data visualisation tools to present system outputs and analytical results to business teams and management.
- Collaborating with cross border teams, including marketing, sales, and operations teams, to consult on system requirements, clarify user needs, and ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
- Supporting continuous improvement of data processing workflows, system logic, and analytical methodologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of e commerce and marketing systems.
- Maintaining and supporting existing data systems and applications, identifying and resolving data anomalies, testing and debugging system issues, and ensuring stable operation of data related business functions.
- Documenting system logic, data structures, and operational procedures to support ongoing system use, maintenance, and future development.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field; or
- At least 5 years of experience in a programmer analyst, systems analyst, software analyst, or closely related role;
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with New Zealand and international e-commerce environments
