Live In Caregiver
Live-In Carer – Dementia Support (4 Days per Week), Accommodation 7 days if needed, Food provided
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced live-in carer to support an 81-year-old woman in the early stages of dementia in a safe and comfortable home environment, Takapuna Auckland. This is a live-in position working 4 days per week, with accommodation available for the full week if desired.A car is provided if needed or petrel for your own car. Food is also provided.
We are looking for someone who is interested in building a long-term relationship and supporting her throughout her dementia journey as her care needs gradually change over time.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide attentive day-to-day support focused on maintaining dignity, comfort, companionship, and wellbeing.
Responsibilities include:- Personal care and daily living support
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Meal planning and preparation
- Assisting with medication reminders
- Supporting mobility and general wellbeing
- Light household duties related to care
- Transport to appointments and outings as required
- Monitoring changes in wellbeing and communicating with family members when needed
About You
The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, and experienced in caring for people with dementia.
Essential requirements:- Previous experience caring for individuals with dementia
- Full driver’s licence
- Compassionate and calm nature
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to work independently and provide companionship
- Ability to cook meals
- Has the strength to lift or roll over lady if the need arises in the future,
- First aid or caregiving qualifications
- References from previous care roles
- Comfortable live-in accommodation in Takapuna
- Food provided
- Supportive family environment
- Flexible arrangement with accommodation available throughout the week
- Competitive pay based on experience
- 4 days a week consecutive (Tuesday afternoon to Saturday morning)
- On your days off the accommodation is there for you if needed
- Use of car or petrol provided
