Job Description – Restaurant Manager
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:Tongkhun Korean BBQ Restaurant is a successful restaurant based in Hamilton Central. We are looking for a Restaurant Manager who has proven management skills in the hospitality industry. Applicants should have the skills and experience to be able to independently manage our busy restaurant.
You should have a hospitality and/or a management qualification and a Managers Certificate.
KEY DUTIES- Coordinating and administrating front-office duties.
- Ensure an excellent standard of customer service is delivered at all times
- Take reservations, greet customers and assisting in taking orders when required.
- Supervise staff performance and make sure they adhere to restaurant’s rules and regulations
- Organising group bookings, functions and answering queries.
- Plan, improve and develop menus in conjunction with managers and chefs.
- Supervise the staff and schedule their shifts.
- Assist the manager in selecting and recruiting new staff and train them.
- Assess customer satisfaction by reviewing customer comments or feedbacks.
- Deal with customer’s complaints and concerns in accordance with restaurant’s policies and services standards.
- Ensure that kitchen and dining area are clean throughout the day and good hygiene practice are applied to the business.
- Maintain stock levels and make the necessary orders to ensure efficient running of the business.
- Make price changes of the products as necessary in writing after discussing with the Managers.
- Assist in purchasing, pricing the drinks and keep all drinks and stock related record.
- Hold a Liquor Controller Qualification to manage our licensed premises.
- Ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the conditions of our alcohol licence.
- Ensuring adherence of government health, occupational safety and licensing regulations.
- Such other duties that the employer may request time to time.
- Experience in a busy, fast paced environment.
- A proven track record with a solid ability to organise effectively, solve problems quickly and communicate effectively.
- Qualification in management or hospitality at level 6 or above, Managers Certificate and Liquor Control Qualification and at least 3 years of experience in the industry some of which should be in a management role.
- We offer a pay rate between $28 and $36 per hour, working full time (35-45 hours per week).
