QA Technical Officer

Alaron Products Limited is New Zealand's leading GMP certified manufacturer and packer of complementary medicines and natural health products. Based in Nelson, Alaron is entering an exciting phase of growth and innovation. To support our expanding pipeline, we are now seeking to appoint a QA Technical Officer.

Reporting to the QA Technical Manager, this permanent, full-time role is an ideal position for a technically skilled professional who is looking for an opportunity to join a fast paced, dynamic and highly regulated environment where Quality Assurance is a fundamental part of our day to day operations.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Manage the day-to-day activities for all external contract testing laboratories, including internal and external enquires about testing and sample handling and shipping to external testing laboratories.
  • Lead out of specification (OOS) investigations, both internally and with external contract testing laboratories, determining root cause and identifying appropriate CAPAs.
  • Technical assessment of new materials, product trending and software validation.
  • Provide support to the wider QA team with the design and implementation of qualification and validation projects.
  • Provide support and back-up to the QA Technical Manager.
**What we're looking for:**
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar role preferably within a GMP environment.
  • A tertiary qualification within a relevant science field.
  • Familiarity with various dosage forms including tablets, capsules, powders, creams, ointment and liquids would be an advantage.

  • Methodical with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply written GMP and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Products.
