Bakery/Deli Manager
New World Aokautere is a proudly locally owned and operated store under the Foodstuffs network.
Due to the complexity of this role and learning four different shifts, the successful candidate will need to be flexible, especially in the first few months, to learn each of the shifts. Three are early morning shifts, and one is an afternoon shift finishing at 7pm.Once the candidate is up to speed, they will settle into an agreed permanent routine (apart from covering absences) Sunday - Thursday. The successful applicant will be supported by a fantastic and dedicated team in the bakery and deli.
We are looking for someone who is ready to hit the ground running! On a day to day basis you will be responsible for understanding and supporting the four shifts, running the financial KPI's, ordering, back of house paperwork, training team members and being hands on in the department alongside our dedicated team.This is an on the floor role with some computer work required.

- Computer literate - SAP knowledge preferred
- Unit standards 167, 168 and 497 preferred
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
- Leading and managing a team
- Customer service skills
- Proven ability to deal with people of all cultures
- Be a team player and a problem solver
- Supermarket or FMCG experience preferred
- Have health and safety, and food compliance experience
- Have the drive and motivation to improve the department and take it to another level

This is a fast paced, busy role in a key area of our store. If you are customer focused and have an eye for detail, we would like to hear from you. Days and times to be discussed further at interview however the role will be Sunday - Thursday.
