Chef: Southern Cross Brightside Hospital, Auckland

We have an exciting opportunity for motivated, reliable and experienced Chef who has a passion for food and is keen to take the next step in their career by joining our team.
Southern Cross Brightside Hospital, Auckland is a modern private short-stay surgical hospital based in Epsom that is committed to providing restaurant quality meals and catering for special dietary requirements on request. To make this happen, we need a motivated Chef who is passionate about food, and excellent service to support our Chef Manager.
This role, along with the Chef Manager, will be providing meals for 43 patients and lunches for up to 100 staff per day. You will be involved in all aspects of food preparation and service, along with keeping the kitchen clean and doing dishes.The successful candidate will need experience especially in producing both breakfast and dinner meals, baking and creating sandwiches.
The shifts are fixed every week and include the following:- Monday: 10:00am to 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 10:00am to 6:30pm
- Friday: 10:00 to 6:30pm
- Saturday: 6:00am to 2:30pm
- Sunday: 6:00am to 2:30pm
- Prepare, cook and serving of a-la-carte restaurant quality food for patients and staff
- Show an interest in developing skills further
- Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff for breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Show knowledge of dietary requirements
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
- Work at a high level without supervision
- Be friendly and engaging and know what it means to deliver outstanding customer service
