About the role
We are seeking experienced factory process workers to join our mussel grading and packing teams on night shift at our mussel processing factory in Havelock. We're looking for motivated individuals with at least 6 months experience in a mussel factory to fill various roles. This could include:
- Packing - Efficiently pack mussel products according to company standards and specifications.
- Grading - Sort and grade mussel products based on size, quality, and specifications.
Working Hours: 45 hours per week guaranteed working Monday - Saturday
Pay Rate: $24 - $27.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Location: Must be based in Marlborough region and have reliable transportation.
You will:
- Efficiently pack and label mussel products according to company standards.
- Sort and grade products by size and quality, maintaining consistency.
- Open mussels with minimal waste while following hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist with equipment operation, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Support logistics by loading/unloading and coordinating dispatch.
- Operate and maintain plant equipment to ensure smooth production.
- Follow all health, safety, and quality standards on site.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 6 months experience working in a mussel processing factory.
- Ability to work permanent night shifts and meet physical demands of the role.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take on various tasks within the production process.
- Must be based in Marlborough region and have reliable transportation as the factory is in havelock, which is 40km out of Blenheim.
