Through integration and collaboration, we'rebuilding a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability,whānau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleHere at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an experiencedPhysiotherapist to join us in medicalrespiratory as part of our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster inChristchurch Hospital.
In this role youwill be delivering services to the medical respiratory specialty and supportingthe wider team.Your caseload will include a combination of inpatients on the medicalrespiratory ward and outpatients as part of our Physiotherapy Respiratory Outpatientservices.As part of our Cardiorespiratoryand Surgical Cluster, this team works with patients across clinical specialtiesincluding General Surgery, Cardiology/Cardiothoracics, Intensive Care andUrology.You will be actively involved in theeducation and training of 4th year undergraduate students and our rotationalstaff.
You will need to be enthusiastic and confident in your clinical practiceand have a collaborative communication style.You will be required to contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters.In this role, you will be responsiblefor:Undertaking assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other servicesSupervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy studentsSupporting quality improvement activitiesAbout YouWe are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist passionate about working in the public health system who demonstrates the following skills/ experience to join us in this permanent full time opportunity.
Experience in the medical respiratory setting- inpatients and/or outpatientsInpatient hospital experience desirableThe ability to work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary teamEnthusiasm and confidence in sharing your knowledge across your disciplineCompetency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reoMāori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of yourlearning and growth Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practicing Certificate is essentialWorkingfor Health New ZealandHealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellnesses'.
