We are seeking a visionary Cloud Enablement Lead to join our Architecture and Infrastructure team.

This is a senior thought leadership and trusted advisor role that will shape cloud adoption across a hybrid and multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS), while ensuring our range of enterprise, operational and mission-critical systems operate securely and reliably.

This role is ideal for a strategic leader passionate about leveraging cloud technologies for best long-term value, delivering innovation while enhancing operational outcomes.
You will be instrumental in embedding cloud-enabled outcomes into product roadmaps, guiding teams through transformation, while championing modern practices.

Key Accountabilities: This is a new role and a rare opportunity to work alongside passionate professionals in a collaborative environment to deliver cloud enabled outcomes in an organisation that directly impacts the safety and wellbeing of New Zealand communities.

Develop and maintain a practical cloud enablement strategy aligned with product and architectural goals.
Act as a trusted adviser and cloud evangelist, identifying opportunities for cloud adoption and embedding them in product roadmaps.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Product Owners, and Engineering teams to drive modern, secure, and scalable solutions.
Lead an uplift in cloud capability across teams championing adoption, optimisation, monitoring, metrics and continuous improvement.
Provide expert guidance on cloud platforms, cost management, licensing and modern practises.
Ensure robust cloud governance, security, and data privacy controls.

He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capability.

Specifically, you will have:
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms in the New Zealand context.

Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and ability to lead change.

Experience both with AWS and Azure as Police uses both providers.
Applicable industry-recognised cloud certifications (preferred).
Strong planning capability and experience in agile and product practices.
A proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority.
A track record of building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external cloud service providers.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
