Our Napier operations are on the lookout for responsible and reliable people to join our close-knit team on a casual basis.

The role will involve the discharging of fuel or bunkering on the Wharf. Other terminal duties may be offered should you have the right skills and positive approach to work.

The work involves manual handling and will involve working outside in all weather conditions. Vessels can arrive at any time of the day or night, weekdays or weekend, so flexibility is key for this role.

What will you be doing?
  • Complete bunkering tasks on the wharf to ensure ships are bunkered appropriately by following the correct processes and keeping accurate records.
  • Embrace your inner handyperson by helping with maintenance tasks when required.
  • Completing all tasks in a manner that's safe for personnel and the environment.
  • Discharging of tankers is under-taken according to standard operating procedures.
  • Work with the Branch Manager to maximise business returns while minimising risks.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out with regard and recognition of Health and Safety requirements and personal safety

Qualifications

If you have the below qualities, we are interested to hear from you:

  • Proven ability to manage your time and work in a busy environment.
  • Owing to the nature of the work and scheduling requirements, you will need to be able to work, days, nights, weekends and public holidays in all weather conditions when required.
  • Demonstrated skill in following operating procedures including strict health and safety requirements.
  • Good verbal communication and able to maintain accurate written records.
  • Current full drivers licence.
  • Pass a drug screening process.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in creating value through your relationships with your team and clients
  • Must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or hold a valid work visa and resides in New Zealand.
