QIC Motors Ltd (GEE-J PANEL AND PAINT) is an expert auto body shop specialists,

We offer panel and paint, private & insurance work and all mechanical repairs. We have been operating for over 10 years in Auckland. We are looking for reliable Vehicle Painter to meet our high standard services to our customer.

• Minimum 6 months of experience working in automotive repairs and maintenance.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• Excellent physical condition
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

• Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, mask, and prime vehicle surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint and coatings.
• Paint Application: Operate spray guns and other tools to apply primers, basecoats, clearcoats, and specialty finishes to vehicles, ensuring even coverage and flawless finishes.
• Colour Matching: Accurately mix and match paint colours using computerized systems or manual techniques to meet customer specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain spray booths, compressors, spray guns, and other tools to ensure optimal performance and safety. Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
• Component Removal and Replacement: Remove damaged panels, parts, and interior trims to access repair areas. Replace severely damaged sections with new, refurbished, or second-hand panels, including welding and joining replacement parts.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished work for imperfections (e.g., runs, orange peel) and perform buffing, polishing, or touch-ups as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Follow workplace health and safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE, ventilation, and hazardous material handling.
• Documentation: Record materials used, time spent, and work completed for job tracking and billing purposes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with panel beaters, technicians, and customers to meet project deadlines and expectations. Assist vehicle body builders in constructing, restoring, or modifying custom, vintage, or specialty vehicles.

Other details:

• Term: Permanent full time position
• Wage: $28-$35 per hour (depending on experience)
• Hours of work: 30 hours or above per week
• Shifted from Monday to Sunday
