About the Role The Quality & Assurance Coordinator strengthens service quality by managing complaints, analysing trends, coordinating audits, monitoring corrective actions, and leading provider risk assessments. The role synthesises quality and risk information to support improvement and contributes to wider assurance activities.
A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity underpins the work, prioritising Māori health gain, culturally safe practice, and support for Māori, Pacific and Disability led approaches.This position contributes to building a positive, reflective organisational culture where kaimahi can learn, innovate, and perform well.

The role maintains strong partnerships and supports effective health and safety, compliance, and risk management.About you To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills, experience, and attributes:Essential experience & attributesRelevant qualification or equivalent experience.Practical experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supporting equity.Experience with contract administration, complaints processes, and quality/risk systems.Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.Able to identify improvement opportunities and support others in using business systems.Core capabilitiesUnderstanding of the application of Pae Ora, Te Tiriti obligations, and equity principles.Understanding of tikanga, mātauranga Māori, and whānau‑centred engagement.Strategic thinking, relationship building, and the ability to support high‑performing teams.Awareness of change leadership, financial basics, and compliance/risk requirements.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
