About the opportunities | Ngā whakamārama mō te tūngaThe Ministerial and Executive Services team is responsible for the Ministry's corporate accountability, planning and reporting, and official correspondence functions.
Earlier this year, the team implemented a new operating model to enhance the efficiency and better support the Ministry in meeting its statutory obligations and performance goals.

  • Corporate Accountability, you will be at the forefront of driving transparency and performance.
You will lead the development of our corporate accountability, planning and reporting processes and documents, and work closely with and mentor the Adviser
  • Corporate Accountability.
Key responsibilities include:Leading the Ministry's corporate accountability processes and document production, including the Output Plan, Annual Report, Estimates and Annual Review hearing information, ensuring they meet internal and external requirementsLeading the production of internal business planning and management reporting and adviceSupporting the Manager in the allocation of incoming workProviding oversight and advice on the effectiveness of the team's operating model and any areas of improvementProviding expert advice to the team and wider Ministry on the standards and delivery of servicesCoaching, advising and mentoring team members and supporting the overall capability development of the teamSupporting the delivery of the team's wider responsibilities as needed.Adviser

  • Corporate Accountability who will have strong experience and demonstrated successful capability in:Providing advice and leading corporate accountability matters for Ministers and senior leaders, including authoring briefings and internal memorandumsEnd-to-end delivery of corporate accountability matters, while working under pressure and delivering multiple work outputs under time pressureSelect Committee requirements and processesThe machinery of government, including interpreting relevant legislation (including Public Finance Act 1989, Public Service Act 2020 and Crown Entities Act 2004)Building and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally, including collaborating with others to achieve outcomes, and influencing the agenda.Building the capability of others, including the provision of guidance, coaching and on-the-job training to less experienced peopleWe're looking for an Adviser
  • Corporate Accountability who will have experience and successful capability in:Providing trusted advice from within the public sectorThe machinery of government processes and relevant legislation (including Public Services Act 2020, Crown Entities Act 2000, Official Information Act and Public Finance Act 2004)Building and maintaining effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skillsCommunicating clearly and effectively to influence and engage with diverse audiences to drive outcomes and make things happen Operating in a fast paced and changeable work environment, demonstrating your agility to respond as well as the ability to handle high flows of information while working under pressure and to deadlines.Advising on corporate accountability matters is preferred, but not essential.
We are open to training the right candidate who brings curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn.A relevant tertiary qualification for both positions is preferred.
Salary range | Whānuitanga Utu ā-TauThe base salary range budget for the Senior Adviser
  • Corporate Accountability position is $108,126
  • 135,000 per annum + KiwiSaver.
The salary offered will reflect skills and experience.The base salary range budget for the Adviser
  • Corporate Accountability position is $79,983
  • $85,490 per annum + KiwiSaver.
