Nova Games in Albany is looking for a passionate, hobby-driven individual to join our team as a Part-Time/Casual Sales Associate. We aren't just a shop; we’re a hub for the local tabletop community, and we need someone who can talk shop while keeping the shelves stocked and the hobby tables humming.

Your primary role is to provide an exceptional customer experience for all visitors. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Customer Guidance: Engaging with all customers as they enter the store, asking questions and listening to help them find exactly what they need, whether it’s a specific paint or their first starter set.
• Hobby Support: Offering basic advice on building and painting miniatures. Confidently running introductory paint and play experiences for our games. Inviting customers back for relevant events.
• Community Building: Assist in setting up gaming tables and supporting new players. Helping run in-store events.
• Store Operations: Managing transactions, picking and packing online orders, processing stock deliveries, and ensuring our store stays clean and organised.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A confident communicator
• Skilled at juggling multiple tasks and staying organised
• Proactive and calm under pressure
• Passionate about miniature wargaming, trading card games, and board games
• Detail-oriented with a creative streak
• Comfortable with basic admin and digital tools
• Reliable - shows up on time and ready to engage, preferably with own transport

Relevant Experience:

• Retail/Service Experience: Previous experience in retail or hospitality is preferred, but a winning personality and a "can-do" attitude are mandatory.
• Game/Product Knowledge: Solid knowledge of Warhammer and at least some of our other games and supporting products is preferred, but a willingness to learn about other games and products is a must.
• Event Management: Previous experience running or coordinating events is preferred.
• Time/Task Management: Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and engage with customers confidently. The role will require you to be sole charge on occasion.

More Information:

• Hours: Fixed hours on Sundays. Additional hours as needed. Expect 7 to 14 hours per week.

• Must be available Sunday 10am
• 4pm and some evenings.

• 9:30pm, Saturday 10am
• 5pm, and Sunday 10am
• 5pm) on occasion is preferred.
• Status: Part-Time and Casual.
• Pay: $23.95 with a review after successfully completing a 90 day trial period.
