Position of School Caretaker.

Birkdale North School in Birkdale, North Shore, Auckland is seeking a caretaker.
The job involves:
- basic school maintenance and repairs
- grounds work
- swimming pool management
- health and safety
- waste management
- machinery operation including ride-on mower, line trimmer, leaf blower, and chainsaws
The successful applicant will be:
- flexible, patient and hard-working
- able to contribute to a positive school and staff culture.
- able to use a computer for basic tasks is (not essential but desirable).
- have a high level of physical fitness and the ability to use their initiative.
The process will involve police vetting, identity checks, and references from two referees.
The position is for 40 hours per week (negotiable) over 52 weeks of the year. Conditions and remuneration are according to the School Caretakers’ and Cleaners’ Collective Agreement.The ideal start date is Monday 28th July 2025, there is some flexibility with the hours of work.
