Chef/Manager

Manager/Supervisor:

  • To ensure that at no time do you or any other staff member work outside of Spicebox Restaurants Host
Responsibility Policy, the Sale of Liquor Act or our In-House Staff Alcohol Policy.
  • Runs service during restaurant operations with front of house staff to give best customer service to dine in customers.
  • Planning menus & specials in consultation with Chefs;
  • Planning and organising special functions,big bookings etc
  • Maximizes restaurant/bar profitability by ensuring portion control; monitoring accuracy of charges.
  • Doing daily stock-takes and ordering stock as necessary
  • Must have at least 2 years experience in managing shift with reputable restaurant/hotel/catering/cruise/retail.
-Pay rate ranges from $25-$30 (depending on experience)
  • Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality of food.
  • Responding to customers' inquiries and complaints about food and services
  • Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances
  • Ensuring safety and security procedures are enforced
  • Have Bar or FOH experience (not essential but advantageous).
  • LCQ required
Chef/Cook role(various positions)
  • Prepare and cook the Mexican food according to the menu
  • Must have excellent knowledge of mexican cuisine but training can be provided
  • Ensure Menu consistency and culinary standards in terms of presentation and taste
  • Manage and maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Manage day to day running of the kitchen
  • Discuss and monitor food preparation process and assure food quality with FOH staff and kitchen staffs
  • Assist with general cleaning as required
  • Degree/Diploma/Trade Certificate in culinary skills will be an added advantage
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in cooking with reputable restaurant/hotel/catering.
-Pay rate ranges from $25-$32 (depending on experience)
  • Must be able to work during weekdays and weekends
  • Good communications skills along with presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good team worker & a quick learner
Kitchen hand:
  • Helping Chefs to run operations during service time.
  • Cleaning kitchens & food preparation areas
  • Cleaning cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants
  • Receiving deliveries, checking supplies and stocking in dry store.
  • Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking, and preparing of dishes
  • Packing /platting food for serving
  • Cooking, baking,roasting ,frying and heating simple food items
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in cooking with reputable restaurant/hotel/catering

--Pay rate ranges from $23.5-$26(depending on experience)

Waiter/ Bar: We are looking for someone who enjoys a good time and can work in a fasted paced environment.

Flexible hours between 12-30 hours per week. Shifts usually start at 4pm/5:30pm/6pm depending on your availability and finish no later than 10:30pm.Perfect if you’re studying or have other commitments!

We open from Tuesdays to Sunday’s so guaranteed Monday off!

The right person would:
  • be available most nights of the week including weekends.
  • Have Bar or FOH experience (not essential but advantageous).
-Pay rate ranges from $23.5-$27(depending on experience)
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Must be good with people or have customer service experience.
  • Setting and arranging tables
  • Greeting customers and presenting them with menus and beverage lists
  • Taking orders and relaying them to kitchen and bar staff through POS system
  • Serving food and beverages
  • Clearing tables and returning dishes and cutlery to kitchen
  • Taking payments for sales through operating point of sales machines & EFTPOS.
  • May recommend wines/cocktails to complement food
