As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claimsettlement this role has been mapped to National Band 2/Profile 2AFor further information about the administration andclerical pay equity settlement please follow the link below: PSANational Health Administration Collective Agreement - FINAL(tewhatuora.govt.nz) Key ResponsibilitiesReception DutiesProvide a warm and professional front-of-house experience for patients and visitors Manage patient bookings and ensure accurate demographic information in the patient management system Handle telephone and electronic enquiries, directing them appropriately Arrange interpreter services as required Process patient payments accurately and reconcile daily banking Book patients into relief of pain clinics in line with eligibility criteria Maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times Undertake additional duties as required by the line manager Administration DutiesReceive and accurately process referrals Prepare and distribute referral acknowledgement correspondence Provide administrative support across the service as workload requires Contribute positively to the vision and goals of the Hospital Dental Service and wider health system Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures About YouEssential Skills & ExperienceExceptional customer service skills with a strong patient focus Confident with technology and quick to learn new systems Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet deadlines A collaborative team player Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) Excellent keyboard and data entry skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proactive, perceptive, and solutions-focused approach DesirablePrevious administrative experience in a healthcare setting Knowledge of medical or dental terminology Familiarity with public hospital systems and patient management systems Understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
