Senior Financial Accountant

As Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll be part of small and tight-knit corporate team, working directly with the CFO and alongside experienced stakeholder who bring deep expertise and mana. You’ll cover a wide range of accounting activity, from month-end and annual reporting, to payroll, procurement, and financial systems oversight.You’ll also be able to directly influence and support continuous improvement across processes, systems and controls.
This is a hands-on role where rolling up your sleeves is valued. You’ll be someone who’s comfortable pitching in, whether it’s reconciling accounts, reviewing payroll runs, or preparing financial papers for Treasury. You’ll bring a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
What you’ll bring:
- CA qualification (or working towards) and 3+ years’ experience in financial or management accounting
- Full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end, annual reporting, and audit support
- Experience with procurement, financial systems, and policy/process management
- Familiarity with public sector legislation and Treasury reporting
- Strong stakeholder engagement and a continuous improvement mindset
- Confidence working across teams and with external partners
This is a fixed-term role through to mid-2027, 25-30 hours per week. The office is based in Wellington CBD, close to the station and with flexible working options available.
