We are looking for an enthusiastic registered physiotherapist to join our experienced orthopaedic team at Counties Manukau District. Do you have experience in Acute Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, implementing evidence-based practice, management of patients with higher clinical complexity, service development, supporting & developing staff, providing clinical expertise within the acute orthopaedic service and to other disciplines?
The ability to lead and foster a learning culture and contribute to training needs analysis for the team/service is essential.This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your clinical skills whilst developing skills in leadership/management and research.
Your clinical caseload will be varied ranging from working in the Emergency Department, (which is one of the busiest EDs in NZ), with acute admissions to the emergency department to working on the acute orthopaedic wards with pre/post-operative elective surgery and acute trauma including SCI.
Counties Manukau is the Northern Regional Spinal Cord Injury Centre which includes a 4 bedded SCI Unit on the acute orthopaedic ward. The team is based over two sites: Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Surgery Centre. If successful, you will be required to contribute to the supervision, training and development of rotational staff, physiotherapy students and rehabilitation assistants.

The role also includes weekend work.Support is offered through the Section Head, Allied Health Professional Lead for Physiotherapy and other senior physiotherapists (5) within the team.
