This is a hands-on role requiring the operation of specialized machinery and heavy vehicles used in road stabilization and rehabilitation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of plant and equipment, including
- Stabilizer
- Grader
- Pulverizer
- Miller
- Excavator/Digger
- Drive and operate Class 5 trucks with Road Ranger gearboxes to transport materials, equipment, and machinery
- Carry out general site duties including loading, unloading, and setting up machinery for daily operations
- Conduct pre-start checks and basic maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Work collaboratively with other team members and subcontractors on-site
- Adhere to all site safety and environmental management plans
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 license with minimum 5 years' experience using Road Ranger gearbox
- Valid Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers (WTR) endorsement
- Proven experience operating stabilizing equipment and earthmoving machinery
- Sound understanding of road construction and pavement stabilization processes
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physically fit and reliable
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications (but not mandatory):
- ConstructSafe or similar H&S qualification
- First Aid Certification
- Experience with lime and cement spreading, and GPS machine control systems
