Location: Christchurch
Salary: $70 000 - $85 000 based on Experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Account Manager. This role is ideal for someone with a background in manufacturing or trade-based industries, who understands how processes work and enjoys solving problems and supporting existing customers, without the pressure of cold sales.
This is not a sales rep role, instead, it's about building long-term relationships, providing reliable support, and being the connection between the customer and internal teams. It's a perfect next step for someone who's been on the tools and is ready to take their career off the floor and into a role with growth potential.For the right person, this could lead into a senior leadership or executive opportunity in the future.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the first point of contact for existing customers, both over the phone and in person.
- Visit customers in designated regions to ensure satisfaction and provide solutions where needed.
- Make follow-up calls during quieter periods to check on stock levels and offer support.
- Represent the company at our annual conference (typically held in July).
- Attend sales meetings and provide customer feedback when called upon.
Order & Admin Support:
- Answer incoming calls and assist with general customer enquiries.
- Prepare and process production orders.
- Assist with overseas stock ordering and tracking.
- Prepare written reports following customer visits and sales trips.
Planning & Logistics:
- Assist with the planning and execution of annual customer visit trips (4 nights away as required).
- Coordinate travel, rental vehicles, and accommodation for regional visits.
- Work closely with the internal sales and production teams to ensure smooth communication and delivery.
Health & Safety:
- Always adhere to workplace health and safety policies.
- Wear correct PPE and report any incidents or hazards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute ideas to improve company standards, procedures, and service delivery.
- Support internal teams with process improvement and customer feedback.
What We're Looking For:
- Background in manufacturing, production, or trade industries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Confident working independently and part of a team
- Willingness to travel (approx. 4 nights per trip)
- A proactive and professional approach with a customer-first attitude
