Retail Duty Manager

This role is to provide effective support required by the General Manager to ensure the operation of the store in accordance with agreed KPI’s so that customer service levels and business performance measures are achieved. Working on the shop floor, you are in constant contact with customers, staff and suppliers.

Your role is to ensure staff give great customer service as well as dealing with some suppliers and workplace administration (rostering etc). Training and development whilst in the position is an option.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  1. Strategy
  • Understanding the store KPI measurements and working towards the achievement of these
  • Work with General Manager and all other members of the Team to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
  • Planning store displays and promotions, monitoring and maintaining optimal inventory levels and loss prevention measures
  • Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicate these to the General Manager
  • Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives
  • Assist the General Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers
  1. Customer Service
  • Ambassador of the company on all levels of customer/supplier contact
  • Answering phone and email inquiries.
  • Quote and process sales orders from all channels
  • Direct shop floor customer contact
  • Ensuring store presentation standards are met as well as having an effectively organised warehouse
  • Direct shop floor sales
  • Ensure the Office, Warehouse and Shop staff equally support each other to process stock orders and sales in the most efficient way
  • Dealing with issues via the phone and email
  1. General
  • Oversight to ensure cash handling procedures are followed and tight controls are in place to prevent any loss and ensure accuracy
  • Liaise with external agencies and authorities as necessary (Property Manager, police, local council)
  • Manage and maintain effectiveness of IT and other essential in-store systems.
  1. Marketing & Social Media
  • Coordinate the promotion of the business via weekly newsletter
  • Coordinate social media (Facebook, Instagram, Meta, Website)
  • Organising and coordinating events
