The opportunity - Te aheinga
Join our fantastic NPDC Parks team as Field Staff - Fernery.
In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering the horticulture work programme at the Fernery in Pukekura Park. A passion for plants and strong plant care knowledge will be a real advantage.
This is a rewarding position where you'll help maintain and enhance one of our community's most treasured green spaces. Your day-to-day work will be based in the Fernery, operating on a roster as the venue is open seven days a week. Tasks include watering, plant husbandry, spraying, propagating and other activities to keep our displays thriving.
Key responsibilities - Nga haepapa matua- Ensure all health and safety directions and instructions are followed
- Carry out horticulture work as scheduled and directed
- Utilise resources effectively
- Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
- Driver’s licence for relevant vehicle classes
- General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job
- A passion for horticulture - Level 3 desired or actively working in the horticulture industry
- Experience in the growing and care of plants

You can expect to start in this permanent, full-time role with a salary of between $60,358 - $62,985.
