Christchurch - Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Design:

• Oversee and execute all aspects of mechanical design for equipment, ensuring designs meet industry standards and customer requirements. A strong focus on Design for Manufacturing principles is required.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Conduct simulations and stress tests to validate design integrity and performance.
• Implement design modifications and improvements based on testing and feedback.

1. Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain all required engineering documentation, including:

1. Detailed engineering calculations and analysis.
2. Compliance with industry standards and regulations.
3. Comprehensive visual documentation including photos and videos for manufacturing and assembly instructions.

• Maintain a well-organized documentation system for easy retrieval and reference.

1. Reporting:

• Provide updates on project progress, including:

1. Identification and analysis of any encountered hurdles or risks.
2. Proposed solutions and mitigation strategies for any issues.

1. Communication:

• Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication with management, team members, and other integral parties.
• Attend meetings and updates to keep all stakeholders informed.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and other departments as needed.

1. Managing Resources:

• Coordinate with internal design resources, ensuring optimal use of team capabilities.

1. Project Leadership:

• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members, fostering professional growth and development.

• Prioritize tasks and workflows effectively to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

1. Customer Interaction:

• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
