Milford Sound Lodge is a premium accommodation and restaurant located in the heart of Fiordland National Park. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and rainforest, we provide guests from around the world with a once-in-a-lifetime experience in one of the most spectacular places on earth.

We’re looking for a professional and detail-oriented Reservations and Administrative Support team member to join us remotely. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the precision and rhythm of administration, has strong written communication skills, and takes pride in accuracy, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

Working from home (based in Southland, Otago or Canterbury), you’ll support our on-site Guest Services and Reception team by:
  • Managing guest reservations via email and responding to booking enquiries
  • Booking third-party activities on guest's behalf
  • Assisting with general administrative tasks and system updates
  • Supporting the on-site reception team to make their day easier and more efficient
  • Identifying and solving problems proactively to improve processes and guest experience
  • Ensuring consistency and quality control across all booking processes
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism in all communication

All required IT hardware will be supplied, and prior experience with Newbook reservation software and NZ Payroll is an advantage (though full training will be provided). You’ll also have the opportunity to travel to Milford Sound several times a year for on-site training and connection with the team.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced in tourism, reservations, or guest services
  • A natural problem finder and solver, with initiative and sound judgment
  • Self-disciplined, organised, and able to work independently
  • Confident with computers and written communication
  • Accurate, detail-focused, and committed to excellence
  • Naturally helpful, with a calm and professional approach to customer service
  • Legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ citizen, resident, or valid work visa)
The Details
  • Approx. 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, permanent role
  • Additional hours possible depending on skillset - particularly for applicants with marketing experience
  • Remote work from home within Southland, Otago, or Canterbury
  • Occasional travel to Milford Sound for training
