Foh / food handling /barista

As a front of house staff member at Altura, you will play a crucial role in providing an outstanding coffee and dining experience for our customers. Responsibilities include:

• Greeting and welcoming customers with a warm and friendly demeanour
• Operation of POS
• Previous food handling skills essential
• Working at pace with short orders - cabinet environment
• Taking orders and providing recommendations from our menu
• Serving high-quality coffee and beverages with precision and care
• Ensuring prompt and attentive service to meet the needs of our guests
• Maintaining a clean and organised café environment
• Responsible, autonomous work style
• Multitasking, focussed, calm under pressure, with a sense of urgency. High Hygiene and cleaning standards

For the Barista/Floor role, you will need to have at least two years experience as a barista, in a fast paced Cafe environment. We have a very high standard for the coffee that we serve.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a hospitality (server, waiting tables) / barista role
• Opening/closing of the cafe
• Strong communication skills and a friendly personality
• Good command of English language
• Currently reside in Auckland, New Zealand, have the right to work in NZ, we are not an accredited employer for working visas
• Have a solid history of restaurant/cafe experience that includes waiting tables
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on exceeding customer expectations
• A passion for coffee and the hospitality industry
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
