Position Title: Canopy Maintenance Worker
Number of Positions: 10
Location: Katikati, Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $26 – $32 per hour

Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

6 Months of Experience OR Level 1 Qualification

Key Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain orchard canopy structures and support systems.
Monitor canopy integrity and report damage or wear.
Ensure proper tensioning and alignment of canopy wires and frames.
Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
Implement pest and disease control measures under supervision.
Maintain orchard hygiene and safety standards.
Support irrigation and fertilization activities as required.
Record maintenance activities and report progress to supervisors.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets.

Key Requirements

2 years of experience OR Level 4 Qualification

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily orchard operations and seasonal tasks.
Monitor plant health, irrigation, and pest/disease control measures.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company protocols.
Train and guide orchard workers on best horticultural practices.
Plan and implement work programs for pruning, thinning, and harvesting.
Maintain accurate records of crop performance and operational activities.
Liaise with management to report progress and resolve operational issues.
Oversee use and maintenance of orchard machinery and equipment.
Manage workforce scheduling and task allocation for efficiency.
Implement quality control measures to ensure high crop standards.
