About the Role
We are currently seeking a proactive and highly organised Operations Manager to oversee and support the daily operations of our tour and transport services. Based in Christchurch, this role involves coordinating vehicle movements, managing driver schedules, and ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient delivery of all tours and charters.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high service standards, resolving operational challenges in real-time, and supporting the overall success of our growing team.Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset are essential. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage daily operational functions, ensuring efficient scheduling of vehicles and allocation of drivers.
Oversee fleet management, including availability, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety standards and requirements.
Supervise and support the office team and our guides, providing clear communication, performance feedback, and ensuring high levels of service and professionalism.
Liaise with clients, tour operators, and partners.
Identify and resolve operational challenges promptly that minimize disruptions.
Monitor and enforce health, safety, and compliance protocols, maintaining high standards across all operational areas.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing current processes and implementing strategies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
Support business growth by contributing to planning, forecasting, and operational scaling as fleet and service demand increase.
Stepping in to guide / drive when required due to illnesses and other disruptions.
About YouYou bring proven experience in operations, logistics, or transport coordination, ideally within the tourism industry.
You possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You remain calm under pressure and are confident in your problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
You’re an effective communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset and the ability to lead and support others.
You’re tech-savvy and comfortable using transport scheduling or fleet management systems.
You hold a full, clean driver’s license; a Class 2 or above is a strong advantage.
