Project Manager - Commercial Construction
Based in Cromwell, Wanaka, or Queenstown, you’ll be delivering architecturally significant, design-led commercial projects in one of New Zealand’s most prestigious and fast-growing markets.
From high-end hospitality developments to premium mixed-use and bespoke commercial builds, the calibre of project and client sits above the ordinary.
Build impressive projects by day. Paddleboard, ski or mountain bike by evening.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re partnering with a respected, forward-thinking contractor with a strong pipeline of premium commercial work across the Queenstown Lakes region.
As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of projects from pre-construction through to handover, leading programme strategy, commercial performance, and delivery excellence.
You’ll be trusted to manage complex builds where quality, detail, and client experience matter just as much as time and cost.
THE NUTS & BOLTS OF THE ROLE- End-to-end project leadership on high-spec commercial builds
- Driving programmes to achieve key milestones
- Managing budgets, forecasting, and commercial outcomes
- Administering contracts
- Leading high-performing site and subcontractor teams
- Maintaining exceptional client and consultant relationships
- Upholding uncompromising standards in quality and H&S
- 5+ years’ experience delivering NZ commercial construction projects
- Proven capability managing higher-value or design-led builds
- Strong contractual knowledge (NZS 3910 essential)
- Commercially astute with strong financial oversight
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality finishes
- Professional, solutions-focused, and confident engaging with premium clients
