Design Draftsperson - Tauranga

From consultation to design, production and installation, Bayform specialise in Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Sheetmetal and General Fabrication work.
Servicing a broad spectrum of clients from off the street customers with small scale jobs to large companies with specific engineering requirements they service the Bay of Plenty as well as national and international clients.
The Role
In this role, you will be designing and ensuring that projects are completed with approved costing, pricing and agreed time frames and to the highest quality.On a day to day basis, you will be working alongside a skilled team, drafting working drawings for sheet metal engineering projects, programming, and the resources required.
You will establish and maintain positive and constructive working relationships both internally and externally, mentoring and providing guidance and support to the team. In addition, you will liaise with customers; create accurate detailed hand sketches and electronic drawings for the workshop and purchasing for projects; and provide effective support to the management team.
First and foremost you will have an uncompromising approach to Health and Safety.
The Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Several years relevant experience ideally with a broad skill base and a Trade Certificate in sheet metal/ fabrication or an engineering discipline; we will also consider those with less experience
- A proven passion to design and create metal fabricated products
- Positive can-do attitude with an ability to problem solve under pressure
- Drafting experience, ideally proficient with SolidWorks or similar
- Laser nesting & programming experience
- High level of customer service
- Excellent knowledge of general sheet metal practices and production management
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance systems and planning
- Experience working with a team and interacting with staff
- Proficient Excel, Word and Outlook skills including job management software
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- You must have the relevant immigration status to work in New Zealand
