Based on the PSA Allied,Public Health and Technical collective agreement.Note ' Full drivers license is essentialHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principlesof Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system thatserves all New Zealanders.About the RoleAn exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant tojoin our Adult Community Therapy Service!The AdultCommunity Therapy Service (ACTS) delivers allied health services to adults withdisabilities or complex health conditions.We are lookingfor an Allied Health Assistant who is passionate about working alongside peoplewith complex needs and enabling them to live well within their community.

You will work under the supervision of registered allied health professionals,assisting our clinicians to deliver therapy. You'll also be providingadaptive equipment and undertaking client education as prescribed. You will receivetraining to ensure that you can work to the top of your scope within thisAllied Health Assistant role.This is a busy,varied role, where you are guaranteed a varied case load and will work withclients and their support people at home, in the community and in clinicsettings.In this role, you will be responsiblefor:Completing tasks prescribed and supervised by our registered therapistsCompleting phone interviews with patientsDropping off and setting up therapy equipment in the communityClerical/Reception duties as required including record keeping and updating patient files where appropriateAbout YouProviding education and resources, where appropriate, to the client and their family/whānauExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse group of people from varying backgroundsThe ability to take direction and carry out tasks autonomouslyAn acute awareness and respect for the importance of patient confidentialityThe ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment in a time of changeExperience working with adults with complex needs including a variety of neurological conditions and a background in health and inpatient work is advantageousAs travel is required, a full NZ Driver's License and the ability to drive manual vehicles is essentialWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
