We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook for our busy Indian Restaurant in Auckland.

Work experience: One year of relevant work experience

Timing of the Shifts of Work: will have a mixture of split shifts throughout the week, generally not past 9.00 am – 9.00 pm on evenings from Sunday to Monday, Required in Public Holidays

Job Description: Key tasks and Responsibilities you must have as follows:

• Preparing and cooking all authentic Indian curries, Tandoori dishes, Traditional Sweets, and Snacks.
• Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment Seasoning food during cooking
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• May plan menus and estimate food requirements
• May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
• Keeping waste to a minimum and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Maintaining the kitchen to excellent hygiene standards in accordance with ‘Hygiene Certification’ requirements.
• Maintaining personal hygiene and upholding high standards of health and safety
